You purchase a combined crimp/test machine with a start-up stock kit of hose and
fittings. We also support you with training aides, catalogues, marketing and
technical information. You only need a small inventory because BrakeQuip backs
you with a huge stock of hoses and fittings.
Do I need experience making hoses!
No. Even if you have three thumbs, the BrakeQuip system is foolproof and easy to
operate. Everything is preset. There is nothing to adjust. You will receive an
accessory kit and all the tools you need to do a professional job. An
easy-to-understand, comprehensive operations manual also comes standard with the
system.
What hoses can I make?
The BrakeQuip system allows you to make ANY and ALL types of hydraulic brake
hoses or clutch hoses to fit Any and All vehicles, even go-karts, motorbikes,
trucks, forklifts and industrial machinery. You can make ANY and ALL rubber
hoses and stainless steel braided hoses that comply with DOT standards.
Do I need to stock all the fittings in the market place?
No. BrakeQuip can provide fittings-on-demand that covers 85-90% of your market.
To keep your inventory cost low, the fittings are designed to be universal where
possible. The rest of the range is achieved by reusing the customers old
fitting.
How much initial stock do I need?
Our suggested Starter-Pack puts you in business with a good range of hose,
fittings and accessories. Or, you can select your own level of initial stock
which may be either more or less than our standard packs.
What about liability?
We carry a Five Million Dollar products liability
policy that names all BrakeQuip machine owners as additional named insured's.
Also, a 'Sales Agreement' that
accompanies every machine outlines the obligations of all parties. As solid
protection for you and your customers, all hoses must be pressure tested to 3000 psi, twice the maximum operating pressure of any vehicle.
Does the hoses comply with DOT safety standards?
Absolutely! All brake hoses manufactured with the BrakeQuip system and
components comply with DOT FMVSS106
and SAE J1401 standards.
How long does it take to make and test a hose?
Usually between 2 and 5 minutes. If you are using your customers' old fittings,
it could take 15 to 20 minutes.
